Praia do Porto de Mós - Long walks at low tide
The wind is playing in the reeds. The melody at Praia do Porto de Mós entices you into a wide valley. Into a vast beach area full of possibilities. On this stormy Praia it's the sports enthusiasts among you who will find plenty to do.
Head in the direction of the big boards and boats. Over by the water sports operator you can burn lots of energy. Test your stamina at stand up paddle boarding or try to sit tight on the floating sofa for as long as possible. It's by no means as easy as it looks. Of course there have to be the classic banana boats as well. When the waves are high you mustn't let go, which takes quite a bit of practice. In a pedal boat you can get acquainted with a completely different aspect of the harbour.
However, the most fun is probably to be had exploring this large area on foot. On a walk along the fissured rock faces you will discover amazing rock formations set in the sand. Closer to the rocks you’re sheltered from the wind. When the tide goes out new paths are revealed, and you can get to beaches you could otherwise only reach by a circuitous route.
The infrastructure on this beach is excellent. There are toilets and showers, so after a long day at the beach you don't have to go home with salty skin. There's a beach bar from which you can watch the energetic activity on the large beach over cool drinks and a delicious meal. You can even order something to eat from your shady lounger.
