Praia do Cabeço - Unspoiled sandy beach with lots of leisure activities
The timbers of the snack shack are painted white and turquoise and groups of visitors sit on red and blue stools in the sand in front of it, sipping cocktails to relaxed music under the shade of the wooden roof. Every last detail of the bars and restaurants at Praia do Cabeço beach is carefully thought out, which is what gives the place its very special charm.
Just five kilometres from the Spanish border, the sandy beach of Praia do Cabeço spreads out in front of vast dunes and woods. To the west it merges seamlessly with Praia Verde beach and around two kilometres to the east it adjoins the lively holiday resort of Monte Gordo, with its striking silhouette featuring large hotels. Praia do Cabeço is easy to reach by car and you will find parking spaces right behind the area of sand.
Praia do Cabeço has sun loungers and beach umbrellas in some places, which you can hire if you want to relax. Kids can really let off steam on the beach, whether it’s in the shallow, calm sea, on the water playground or doing water sports. Two operators hire out jet skis, pedal boats and canoes, amongst other things.
It's not just families that are attracted to this beach - lots of young couples appreciate the trendy ambience of the resort too. At night the scene moves to the nearby nightclub, where you can dance into the small hours.
