Playa de Cortijo Blanco - well-kept sandy beach with lots of palms and beach clubsPlaya de Cortijo Blanco lies in one of the western suburbs of Marbella, near the well-known marina, Puerto Banús. It is situated in the Spanish region of Andalusia on the Mediterranean coast, the Costa del Sol. Playa de Cortijo Blanco is around 1.5 kilometres long and up to 60 metres wide. The surface consists of fine, grey-brown sand, which is typical of the region and is mixed with strips of pebble stones near the water.
The beach is visually attractive, very clean and well-kept. It has public toilets and showers, and lifeguards ensure safety in the water. Water sports don't play a large role here so you can swim and paddle in peace. However, it does have fitness equipment on shore for adults and play areas right on the sand for children. Loungers and sun umbrellas are spread out at quite large distances in various zones and are available to hire. Even in the height of summer it's never very crowded on the large area of sand.
Lots of palm trees grow right in the sand on Playa de Cortijo Blanco beach, forming small oases with natural shade in places. More palms grow along the long, well-kept promenade, which runs along the back of the beach, and on the strip of green that lies behind it. This is interspersed with several chiringuitos, whose seats spread to the promenade, and with beach clubs that have a lounge-like atmosphere, sun beds and their own pools. There is a chiringuito right by the beach as well, which is set out with a great deal of care and attention to detail. In the western section of the beach, also known as San Pedro, you will find Bora Bora, a particularly well-known and popular beach club, which also functions as a beach restaurant and is a party hotspot in the evenings.
