Summary of the Beach Inspectors

At the largely natural, unspoiled sandy beach of Playa de Sotogrande you will find peace and seclusion. The vastness of the dunes and the large area of sand provide plenty of open space and you can relax amid wonderful nature. In the north Playa de Sotogrande borders a chic residential area. There you can enjoy high-end dishes in an exclusive restaurant. Other than that there is no tourist infrastructure. Only a few people find their way here and even in summer it never gets crowded on this beach.

Playa de Sotogrande - natural, unspoiled sandy beach with an exclusive restaurant

Whether it's the open sea, the almost infinite vastness of the sand or the dune landscape, which reaches a long way inland - if you take a walk along this beach you can allow your gaze to sweep far and wide in all directions. On the Mediterranean coast between Marbella and Gibraltar, which is densely built-up in many places, this vast, unspoiled strip of coast is an oasis of peace.

Travelling by car you drive through a chic residential area to reach the car park at the northern end of the beach. Estepona and Algeciras are both around 30 kilometres away. Alternatively, you can park your car at the southern section of the beach near the lighthouse, but if you do you'll need to allow for a walk along a longish gravel track.

Trocadero Sotogrande restaurant at the northern end of the beach is an exclusive spot where you can enjoy high-end food and drinks. Right at the entrance to the sands there are showers and toilets, although they look a bit run-down. Other than that you won't find any infrastructure here, and particularly to the south Playa de Sotogrande is completely natural. Among the dunes behind the large area of grey sand there are two old concrete bunkers, however these hardly detract from the scenery.

Playa de Sotogrande is mainly popular with the locals. It is suitable for nudists and dogs are allowed on the beach. Away from the mass tourism of the surrounding area, here you have lots of open space and can relax in a very peaceful setting.
