Located in the north-east of Formentera, Playa Cavall d'en Borras is away from the other beach hotspots here and that is what makes it attractive, as on the large sandy area you will always find a quiet space to relax. The shallow, turquoise sea is great for swimming fun. Nestled among the dunes is a restaurant and a beach club. It is also worth coming here in the evening to watch the sun setting over the sea.
Playa Cavall d'en Borras - or El Tiburon and Beso BeachThis is one of the quietest beaches of Formentera and even in the summer months there is plenty of room on the sand. Only near the El Tiburon restaurant and the beach club of Beso Beach, which give these parts of the beach their names, is it a little busier.
El Tiburon and Beso Beach are known together under the name of Playa Cavall d'en Borras. This approximately one kilometre long beach is situated in the north of Formentera and is only two kilometres from the harbour town of La Savina. A narrow wooden path leads from the car park to the beach. The soft sand is surrounded by low dunes and pine forests.
As with most beaches of Formentera, the water here shimmers in a vibrant turquoise colour in the sunshine. However, there is quite a lot of algae in some places, both in the water and on the sand. From the beach you can usually see the many yachts which come here from the nearby island of Ibiza in search of a quiet place to drop anchor.
Nudism is tolerated at this beach which attracts all kind of people, with lots of couples, but also families, heading here to relax. It is also worth coming here in the evening to watch the sun setting over the sea.
The El Tiburon restaurant and the Beso Beach Club are located at the rear of the beach among the dunes. They are tastefully furnished and you can spoil yourself here with local dishes and cocktails. Near the El Tiburon restaurant you can also hire sun-loungers and parasols.
