If you want to spend a quiet and relaxed day at the beach, then the somewhat remote El Salmo beach is ideal. The sand is nice and comfortable to lie on, the water very clean and the waves are pleasant for a swim. Piles of rocks provide shelter from the wind at this natural beach. If you want to, you can also enjoy a swim naked here undisturbed. You can take a long walk along the beach from where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Sotavento lagoon.
El Salmo - Nice, quiet, natural, sandy beach also suitable for nudists
The El Salmo beach is about 20 minutes by car south of Costa Calma, situated in a gorge surrounded by hills, away from the mass tourism of Costa Calma and Morro Jable. Apart from one building which is being constructed in the hills, the bay has been completely left to nature.
El Salmo is a beach with fine sand which also has a few large stones which have been used to build the piles of rocks which are commonly found in Fuerteventura. These provide privacy and shelter from the wind. Here you can lie comfortably on the beach, the water is clean and the waves are pleasant for swimming.
The beach is very popular among nudists and most visitors enjoy the sun and sea without clothing.
There are toilets at the car park, but there are no cafes or water-sport outlets. However, away from civilisation you are usually undisturbed while enjoying nature here and you can also have a lovely view of the busy Sotavento lagoon from a safe distance.
