Tarajalejo - Long town beach with dark sand and good windsurfing conditions
The beach, named after the quiet little town of Tarajalejo, stretches over more than one kilometre. The dark beach consists of lava-sand mixed with stones. A nice promenade with several benches to relax on borders the beach and palm trees round off the picturesque setting. On the beach itself there are several well spread out straw sun-umbrellas as well as sun-loungers for hire. The windsurfing conditions here are very good, especially for beginners, but also for more experienced windsurfers. There are hardly any waves, which makes that first attempt to stand up on the board that much easier. In addition to the local surfing school there is also a diving centre which also offers courses.
Tarajalejo is a really quiet place and the beach is never crowded. A smaller bay, separated by the rocks, can be found at its southern end. There it is even quieter for enjoyable and undisturbed sun-bathing and swimming.
