Vigocho beach, also known as Playa de Chiguigos is very inviting for those who are looking to escape from civilisation and avoid the hustle and bustle of the more popular beaches. The hidden location and the bumpy gravel road leading to the beach make sure that this bay remains a quiet and secluded bay. The grey-black, sandy beach is ideal for relaxation and if the weather conditions are good there is a fabulous view over to the large beach of Cofete.
Vigocho (Playa de Chiguigos) - Hidden sandy bay with a fabulous view over Cofete
A stony gravel road hidden between trees and bushes leads to the small bay of Vigocho. The beach is surrounded by rocks which provide shade and are inviting to settle down among to relax. These extraordinary rock formations give the bay a somewhat mystical atmosphere. The sand at Playa de Vigocho is fine and grey-black in colour. There are also scattered pebbles here, but they do not detract from the otherwise sandy beach area.
When the weather conditions are good there is a great view from Vigocho over to the huge beach of Cofete, also known as Barlovento. You can enjoy this view often completely undisturbed as there are hardly any holidaymakers on Vigocho beach. Be careful while swimming though, as the currents are very strong here.
