Summary of the Beach Inspectors
If you are travelling in the south of the island then Juan Gomez is definitely worth a visit. Away from the masses of tourists, peace and quiet is on offer at this bay which has been left to nature. The fine sand is beige coloured and in parts covered with black lava sand. Piles of accumulated large rocks provide a cosy shelter.

Juan Gomez (Baja Gomez) - Bay left to nature with fine, beige sand, surrounded by cliffs

Playa Juan Gomez, also called Baja Gomez, is situated in the southern part of the island. It can be reached via a gravel road in the direction of Cofete, from where you continue in the direction of Puerto de la Cruz. The exit is shown by a rock and a sign. The path to the beach is quite steep and sandy. This beach at the southern tip of Fuerteventura has been completely left to nature.

Juan Gomez has a large expanse of sand and plenty room for relaxing in the sun. There are a few piles of rocks offering privacy and the bay itself is protected by the cliffs. The beige to brown coloured sand is very fine and only at the back of the beach are smaller stones to be found, but the water's edge itself consists only of fine sand.
