Mal Nombre - Fine sandy beach with dunes in the south of Fuerteventura
Mal Nombre is situated about 15 minutes by car north of Morro Jable in the south of Fuerteventura. The bay is divided into two areas. At the front a steep sand dune protrudes from the water and there is a stretch of black stones along the shoreline. Just above these stones you can follow a track along the dunes or wade through the water to reach the larger part of the beach.
Here there is a large sandy area with fine light-beige coloured sand. Mal Nombre offers children plenty of space to play and build sandcastles. The water is clear and the waves are mostly small. There is easy access to the sea in most places and there are also a lot of piles of rocks where you can find a cosy place to relax. Swimming in the nude is also possible here.
Mal Nombre is surrounded by a nice hilly landscape with scattered sandy areas and green bushes create a picturesque landscape. Barbary squirrels play among the rocks and these cute little rodents are happy to show how tame they are in return for some of your food.
