Summary of the Beach Inspectors

At Playa de Triana a very charming, unspoiled beach awaits, which is divided into two sections by lava boulders in the middle. The more adventurous amongst you can climb over the rocks here and discover marine creatures. It's mainly a beach for locals and is especially popular with families with motor homes, despite the fact that camping is officially prohibited here. Playa de Triana is also very easily accessible via the GT-500 expressway and you can park right by the road.

Playa de Triana - Meeting place for locals and a stony beach with character

Playa de Triana in Bahia de Santa Agueda, the 'bay of holy water', is primarily a beach for locals. Particularly at weekends and in the summer season they like to pitch up at this relaxed spot with their kit, caboodle and campervan. You can reach Playa de Triana, which is nestled amongst numerous hills, via the GT-500 expressway. Despite the fact that Playa de Triana is conveniently located on the expressway, you won't be disturbed by unpleasant road noise on the beach itself as the wind and waves form a nice carpet of sound. You can park right by the road and from this spot you can already see the beach. That's probably the reason why many families stop off here with their motor homes - despite the sign stating that it is prohibited. There are no sanitary facilities, bistros or businesses here - undoubtedly another reason why many families come to the beach here with their campervans.

The stony beach, which is a good 600 metres long, is divided into two sections by lava rocks and large boulders. We recommend sturdy beach shoes, both on the beach and for swimming. Unfortunately, the beach is unsuitable for unconfident swimmers and small children because the shoreline is not only stony, but also very steep. Swimming in the fairly exposed bay is not easy either, since the wind and waves crash directly onto the beach. The adventurous amongst you can explore the beach, climb on the rocks and enjoy the view of the bay, which is made up of different-coloured stones. Between the lava rocks in the surf you'll find eroded areas where you can observe crabs and other aquatic animals, and now and then small water fountains shoot into the air. You're bound to take some spectacular photos home with you!
