Summary of the Beach Inspectors

If you spend a day at Bahía Feliz you'll discover that the "bay of happiness" is quite aptly named - it's a place that really does make you happy! At the local Club Mistral, a global chain of windsurfing schools, you can book your windsurfing course either directly from home or during your stay, or you can just hire equipment.  At this time of year the crowd on the beach are mainly the hotel guests and of course, windsurfers, and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere is sure to make you feel good! It’s the ideal holiday resort for windsurfing fans and anyone who wants to become one!

Bahía Feliz - Feel-good spot, ideal for windsurfing

If you spend a day at Bahía Feliz you'll discover that the 'bay of happiness' is quite aptly named. Although it is actually named after the hotel complex, the beach, which is in two sections - one for swimming and the other for windsurfing - is indeed a place that makes you happy, and it's a little bit of paradise for windsurfers in particular! Beginners and advanced windsurfers can spend the day on the water in the bay, which has a reliable breeze, and then relax and recover from the day's exertion in one of the small sandy coves. It’s the ideal holiday resort for windsurfing fans and anyone who wants to become one!

Getting to Bahia Feliz is remarkably easy. In the south of the island you follow signs to Playa Aguíla, then follow signs to Bahía Feliz. Unfortunately it's very difficult to find a space to park by the side of the road here and you should allow for a long walk. Of course, if you're a guest at the hotel this isn’t a problem since there's a private car park on site. If you're heading to the windsurfing school then you can park your car there as well. To get to the beach you go through the hotel complex along a well-kept, palm-lined path. Unfortunately, the actual entrance to the beach is not wheelchair accessible, but wheelchair users and those who are unsteady on their feet can enjoy views over the sea from a small terrace above Bahía Feliz, under the shade of sweet little straw canopies.

The Hotel Bahía Feliz works together with the local Club Mistral, a global chain of windsurfing schools. The accommodation is ideal for water sports fans who come with their families, because there is a choice between hotel rooms and family-friendly apartments. You can book a complete windsurfing holiday in advance here or, as a hotel guest, you can sign up for a few hours on the spur of the moment. The hotel itself is modern and attractively decorated and with the beautiful bay right on the doorstep, non-surfers will feel just as at home here as well. From down on the beach you can see very little of the complex through gaps in the natural cliffs and stone walls and you can get up close to nature to experience the wind and waves.

Essentially Bahía Feliz is a mixed beach of stones and sand. The area for windsurfers is particularly stony and to get to the swimming area you also have to cross lots of stones, often large ones. The reward is a strip of sand ready and waiting for you by the water, where you can spread out your towel. The access to the water is also very shallow and suitable for children. The "bay of happiness" captivates many bathers with its combination of a well-maintained, verdant hotel complex and the virtually unspoiled beach. Although this means you won't find any restaurants here apart from a nice little beach bar serving snacks and drinks, there are loungers available in summer. At this time of year the crowd on the beach are mainly the hotel guests and of course, windsurfers, and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere is sure to make you feel good.
