Playa Cala Mastella - Just like your own private beach
This is one of Ibiza's smallest beaches, located in the north-east of the island at the end of a narrow bay surrounded by pine forests. Playa Cala Mastella has been mostly left to nature and there are only a few simple boat houses in front of the rocks.
Playa Cala Mastella is only four kilometres from Sant Carles. A tarmac road leads through the forest almost right up to the beach where there is a small car park. The dark sand is mixed with pebbles in parts, but the surface in the water is very stony and therefore appropriate footwear is recommended.
There are some sun-loungers and parasols on this tiny beach and a small kiosk offers drinks and snacks. The friendly owner – a genuine Ibizan - has always got time for a chat. However, there are no water-sports facilities, nor showers nor public toilets at this beach. Most of the time there are not many people to be seen at Playa Cala Mastella because of its remote location. If you walk along the rocks past the boat houses in the direction of the sea you will have a great view of this small bay.
