Es Codolar - Long beach but not very busy
The beach of Es Codolar in the south of Ibiza stands out mainly because of its vastness. Here there is loads of space, but not many people. However, instead there are planes landing at Ibiza airport which is just behind the beach. Es Codolar is over one kilometre in length and consists almost entirely of light-coloured pebbles, which continue into the water before being replaced by sand after a few metres. The beach can be easily reached via the coastal road, which runs parallel to it and there are enough car parking spaces. The journey to here from Ibiza town takes about 15 minutes by car.
Especially in the main season the aircraft noise at this beach increases and can be rather disturbing, but unfortunately the many tourists have to get here somehow. Otherwise, the beach is very quiet and only a few people, including locals taking their dogs for a walk, are to be seen dotted around this vast beach which is near a nature reserve.
Es Codolar has a simply furnished, modern restaurant, the Soul Beach. White beach beds can be found on the stones near the water and wooden planks lead up to a terrace with parasols. The restaurant serves local dishes and drinks in the higher price range.
