Playa Pinet - Reggae bar and water slide
Playa Pinet is known above all for its Global Reggae Bar, a two-level wooden construction with its green-yellow-red flags, large palm trees and cool music, which can also be heard on the beach. The bar has even given this beach a new name and people now talk about going to relax at Reggae Beach.
Playa Pinet is one of several town beaches in the bay of San Antonio, the largest tourist centre on the west coast of Ibiza. It is situated about three kilometres from the town centre and can easily be reached by car. There are car parking spaces in the surrounding streets.
Reggae Beach stands out positively from the other beaches in the area because of its special atmosphere. Although there are also rows of hotel buildings here, the road is not directly behind the beach and a little bit of greenery makes the overall scenery more pleasant. The beach itself has a relatively large soft sandy area where you can always find a space to relax or sun-bathe. In front of the Global Reggae Bar are wooden loungers and straw parasols for hire. Hammocks are also available together with drinks and snacks and there is also a small rasta shop. Next to the bar the beach has another two restaurants to offer.
Next to the Reggae Bar is a large, rather worn-out looking water slide. From the top here you have a great view of the bay, but the slide itself is not always in use. As an alternative, however, you can hire pedal boats or have a go on the banana boats.
