Playa de s'Estanyol - Get onto your speedboat
Wherever you look, basic multi-storey hotels with rows of balconies lined with white plastic chairs are the dominant feature of this beach. Playa de s'Estanyol is one of several town beaches of the bay of San Antonio, the largest tourist area on the west coast of Ibiza.
The beach, which is only a narrow strip of fine sand, is separated from the road by a concrete wall. In the bay opposite boats are can be seen rocking up and down in the harbour of San Antonio, with the skyline of the town behind it. Some guests from the surrounding hotels come to the beach, but it is never very busy. The same applies to the Mexican restaurant with a large outside serving area which can be found behind the beach.
Apart from a few sun-loungers, the only other attraction here is the water-sports centre. This offers speedboat trips together with banana boats, jet-skis and fly boards which are available for hire. A ferry connects Playa de s'Estanyol with the centre of San Antonio, about two kilometres away. Here you can watch the hustle and bustle on the palm tree lined promenade, or head for the nightlife there.
