As a centrally situated town beach near the island’s capital, this beach is easily reachable for the guests of the surrounding hotels. It is very family-friendly, but also popular with couples of all ages. Although the beach is surrounded by many hotels, the large sandy area, the clear sea and the promenade with its palm trees more than make up for this. The beach has plenty of facilities, including shops, restaurants, a diving school and a water-sports outlet.
Playa Figueretas - Almost everything the guests of the surrounding hotels could wish for
Around two kilometres south-west of the centre of Ibiza town a long sandy beach stretches out in front of a skyline of hotels. When in summer masses of tourists looking for sun and sea swarm from their accommodation to this beach it gets really busy here. Hordes of screaming children play in the shallow water, while adults of all ages relax on the sun-loungers or beach towels. Lifeguards keep watch, so that nobody comes to any harm here.
Because of its central location, the guests of the surrounding hotels can easily walk to this beach. If you come by car to join in the fun here, there are car parking spaces in the surrounding streets. Just above the beach is a palm tree lined promenade where there are many restaurants, often belonging to a hotel. In a cosy beach bar among the palm trees you can find fish dishes, paella, hamburgers and sandwiches on the menu.
You can hire jet-skis at a water-sports outlet, while small excursion boats travel to other beaches in the area as well as to the island of Formentera. Playa Figueretas is also a starting point for diving tours. Whether you are a beginner or a professional, the local diving school offers a range of trips to small offshore islands where the underwater world is well worth exploring.
