Cala Llonga - Large hotels in a great natural setting
The name says it all: Cala Llonga is a long bay which stretches about 800 metres inland on the east coast of Ibiza. Between the wooded mountains, colourful pedal boats with slides float in the turquoise water, while blue parasols on the light-coloured sand also provide a splash of colour. Children can let off steam at the beach with water pistols, while their parents relax and soak up the sun on the loungers.
Cala Llonga is six kilometres away from Santa Eulalia and about 12 kilometres away from the capital of the island, Ibiza town (Eivissa). Parking spaces can be found in the surrounding streets, but can get quickly filled up in summer. Several large holiday hotels are located around the beach with some of them even stretching back into the nearby hills. Along the promenade at the back of the beach there are plenty of restaurants and small Chiringuitos advertising their menus on large boards.
There are several playgrounds for children and also a volleyball net at this beach. There is fun to be had in the sea here, with water-sport outlets and a diving school offering pedal boats for hire, as well as organising underwater diving tours. The soft, sandy beach slopes gently into the shallow water and lifeguards are on standby in case of emergency. Showers and toilets round off the facilities provided here.
