Coral Reef Beach is home to the best diving and snorkelling spot in Israel. With its numerous types of coral and animals, the colourful coral reef provides you with an unbelievably beautiful underwater experience and you can even see tortoises and dolphins here. If you would prefer to burn off energy above water, there is windsurfing, kitesurfing, stand-up paddling and canoeing available here. However, the beach also provides several possibilities for those looking for peace and quiet. Whether it is a massage, spending the day relaxing on one of the beach beds, or sipping cocktails in one of the nicely decorated beach bars, at Coral Reef Beach there is something for every taste.
Coral Reef Beach - The nicest coral reef in Israel
Coral Reef Beach is situated on the southern tip of Israel, directly beside the tourist town of Eilat. It lies on the almost 12-kilometre long stretch of Israel’s coast on the Red Sea. In good visibility you can even see Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia from here.
A diverse underwater world at Coral Reef Beach
The beach is home to a wonderful 1200-metre long coral reef, which many Israelis even claim to be the most beautiful in the world. This is perhaps because the water at Coral Reef Beach is crystal clear and after just a few steps into the water colourful fish and other sealife can be seen. This alone makes the beach a perfect holiday destination for families with children. Access into the water is gently sloping and parents don’t need to worry about the safety of their children.
The underwater world of the Red Sea also contains around 270 different types of coral and more than 2,500 sea animals, including tropical fish, sea turtles, sea anemones, mussels, squid, and octopus. Furthermore, at the nearby Dolphin Reef you can swim with dolphins which live completely in the open and even come towards people. If you're lucky, you can often even see them from the beach.
There are many diving and water-sports schools at Coral Reef Beach, which offer courses for all age groups and abilities. As well as snorkelling and diving, there is also windsurfing, kitesurfing, stand-up paddling and canoeing to be found here.
Total relaxation at the Coral Reef
For those seeking peace and quiet there are many options for relaxation at Coral Reef Beach. As well as a beach club, directly at the beach you will find several nicely decorated bars and restaurants, which serve typical Israeli snacks, fresh fish, and delicious cocktails and provide somewhere to relax. Those who prefer to settle down on the beach should rent one of the many sun-loungers with parasols, not only because the sun in the south of Israel is particularly strong, but also because the beach consists of stones and pebbles, which does not make it particularly comfortable to sit or lie down. Alternatively, you can also spend the day on a beach bed and enjoy the views of the mountain scenery of Jordan.
