Acadia Beach - Surfing in the sunset
Acadia Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Israel. The spacious white, sandy beach of Herzliya is only 20 minutes away from Tel Aviv. It is perfect for surfers, yacht-lovers and for just simply enjoying a sundowner.
Surfing and diving at Acadia Beach
Acadia Beach is an absolute hotspot for surfers. Along the beach are several different surfing areas for all levels of ability. Above the beach is a surf school where you can book lessons and courses, but especially in the summer months the school gets fairly busy. There is also a diving school which even offers courses for people with a physical disability.
In the winter months the beach is taken over by the kiters and windsurfers. From October to March you can see anything up to a hundred kites flying over the sea. At the marina nearby you can also hire equipment and book lessons and at the local surf school you can also book courses.
Lifestyle and relaxation at Acadia Beach
Acadia Beach is in one of the most affluent areas of Israel. The Ritz Carlton hotel is close by and especially in the evenings its guests stream to the beach, although the beach is also popular with the locals. The beach is accessible for wheelchairs and a lift brings you down to the promenade.
This place is as varied as it is beautiful. Especially in the early hours of the morning many retired people come to the beach to enjoy the golden light and to go for a walk. During the day you will see numerous water-sports enthusiasts here, but there is still enough space for a relaxed swim in the sea.
In the evenings you can experience a nice sunset atmosphere and people gather at the beach bars. As well as the Yam Bar, which is known for its high-spirited reggae parties, you will also find the Bell Beach restaurant here which gave the beach its unofficial name. High-quality food and lovingly prepared cocktails add to the special flair of this restaurant.
