Bat Yam Beach - The most popular beach of the Tel Aviv locals
Bat Yam Beach is situated in the suburb of the same name in Tel Aviv and is one of the most popular beaches of the people of Tel Aviv. Directly next to the beach is a separate area, the so-called "religious beach", where Orthodox Jews enjoy separate days at the beach for men only and women only.
A promenade with flair
Here you can expect a wide, white sandy beach with a small chic promenade where there are two beach bars. Many locals gather here to drink a cool beer in the evening and to end the day with a nice sunset. The bars are also popular during the day with their inviting combination of chill-out music and typical delicious Israeli delicacies.
What you can expect at Bat Yam Beach
In addition, this beach has perfect conditions for kitesurfing and surfing, as the waves and the wind at Bat Yam Beach are ideal for these. A surf school offers courses for all abilities and you can also hire equipment there. On calmer days the locals like to do stand-up paddling and they will also use the board for surfing and the paddle for steering through the waves. In contrast to many other beaches in the centre of the city you have plenty of space here and will certainly find a quiet corner where you can relax undisturbed. The beach is wide and is separated roughly into two areas. The quieter part is enjoyed especially by couples who like to relax, enjoy the Mediterranean breeze and unwind from their daily stress. The other area is mainly used by families looking forward to spending a nice day at the beach with their children. In the evening you can sometimes see groups of children who come here to fly their kites. The sky is then full of colourful, triangular kites and together with the orange sun on the horizon they provide a very picturesque setting.
