Ein Bokek Beach - Relaxed spa holiday at the Dead SeaEin Bokek Beach is a public beach located in the town of the same name on the Israeli coast of the Dead Sea. In Ein Bokek you will find mainly hotels, beaches and tourist facilities, such as shopping centres.
Holiday and Therapy
Here you will not only find the largest resort on the west coast of the famous salt lake, but also plenty of spa offers. The Dead Sea is said to have many health benefits and you should definitely go for a dip in the salty water. This is exactly the right place to take advantage of the therapeutic services here which can reduce existing ailments, especially for those suffering from rheumatism, nerve and spinal problems. Many guests also enjoy a mineral enriched mud treatment.
The beach is divided into ten sections, some of which are still being renovated. From 2017 the full wellness program will be available. You can find a lot of parasols and gazebos here that protect you from temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius, especially in mid-summer. There are also lifeguards all year round to keep watch on the beach and who can help with any questions. Several freshwater showers, toilets and drinking water dispensers round off the facilities on the beach. Many swimmers also hire plastic chairs, which they then put in the water and enjoy the pleasant water temperature. At the Dead Sea it is recommended to drink at least four litres of water per day!
A salty affair
The Dead Sea has its name because of its extremely high salt content, which you will definitely notice on the beach here in Ein Bokek. Salt encrustations have formed on the banks and in the water you will discover one or two salt crystals. The water is very thick, so swimming is not really possible and it is more so that you are carried by the water.
On the promenade there are some restaurants that offer typical Israeli cuisine and international dishes. The prices are pretty high because there are not many alternatives here, except for the overpriced mini-market.
