Hilton Beach - A Beach for gays, windsurfers, and dog-lovers
Hilton Beach is at the foot of the Hilton Hotel on the promenade of Tel Aviv. The atmosphere at the beach is open and inviting and particularly popular with the residents of this vibrant city.
Gays, water-sports enthusiasts, families and couples all feel at home at this city beach. You can swim safely in the sheltered bay and another option is to spend the day in the beach club on the sunbeds while sampling a typical Israeli menu. The beach is accessible for wheelchairs and even offers special beach wheelchairs, as well as separate areas in the shade. There is also a playground and a fitness course at the beach. Thanks to its diversity, almost everyone will get value for their money at Hilton Beach.
The beach also attracts many visitors who want to enjoy the unmissable sunsets in the evenings.
Off the lead at the dog area of Hilton Beach
At the very northern end of the beach is a separate area provided for people with four-legged friends. This is one of the few dog beaches in Tel Aviv where dogs can run around over the fine sand until they are completely exhausted and then cool down in the water together with their owners. There are pavilions here which provide shade and at the same time separate this area from the other parts of the beach.
Gay Pride at Hilton Beach
Tel Aviv presents itself here in all its splendour. In recent years Hilton Beach has established itself as the unofficial hotspot for the LGBT scene. This section of beach is not only the most liberal in all of Tel Aviv, but also has the fittest and most tanned men in the tightest of swimming trunks. You can make yourself comfortable here under rainbow-coloured pavilions, play matkot (paddle tennis), and take in the impressive views of the sea and the beach bodies. At #hiltonbeach you will find a selection of the best views of the beach on social media.
Windsurfing at Hilton Beach
Beach potatoes who want to get active should come to this beach, as conditions for windsurfing are almost perfect. The good winds simply invite you to come here to tire yourself out on the water.
You will find a windsurfing school at the beach which offers equipment and courses for children, beginners, and experienced windsurfers. Stand-up paddles and kayaks can also be hired here.
Surfers will also get their money’s worth at this beach, but before you get on your board, make sure to check out the latest wave forecast at the beach.
