Haad Nam Tok - A hidden idyllic beach away from the hustle and bustle
Most beaches on Koh Phangan have a good tourist infrastructure and therefore attract many holidaymakers from all over the world. This is not true of the wilder east coast, as the remote beaches here have no tourist infrastructure and the lovely beach of Haad Nam Tok is one of them.
If you would like to visit this beach it is best to hire a boat for the day. In Than Sadet, Thong Nai Pan and Haad Rin you can negotiate a good price for this and, depending on the amount of passengers, you will pay between 40 and 60 Euros. The journey along the east coast is beautiful and the natural surroundings here have been mostly left undisturbed and you will see jungles and cliffs wherever you look.
Haad Nam Tok is a relatively wide beach where there is lots of room to spread out your towel. The sand is mostly fine, but is in some parts slightly grittier. The beach is surrounded by huge rocks and the lush green of the jungle behind it rounds off the nice setting.
Not many holidaymakers make their way to this remote, idyllic place. The lack of tourist infrastructure could well be one reason for this, as there is nothing here at all apart from a derelict restaurant and two empty huts, and people are not to be seen anywhere.
This is the perfect beach for a day trip and there is a good chance that you will be completely on your own at the beach. However, don't forget to bring your own food and drink!
