Haad Tien Beach - The beach for yoga-lovers and electronic dance music fansWhen Haad Tien Beach is mentioned two things spring into the minds of regular Koh Phangan holidaymakers, namely yoga and partying until you drop.
This small bay with its coarse sand is in the east of the island of Phangan and is best reached by boat from Haad Rin. For some years now there has also been a road, but the journey by taxi is rather dangerous and most holidaymakers avoid it. If you are staying at the neighbouring beaches of Haad Yuan or Wai Nam you can also walk through the jungle to Haad Tien Beach, but this is quite laborious.
The beach, which is enclosed at both ends by large rocks, is best known for the Sanctuary, a yoga, detox and retreat centre which attracts mainly young travellers who come every year to do something good for their body. Here you can enjoy healthy juices, detox, meditate and attend one of the many workshops. The atmosphere is cosy and quite exclusive and you can completely relax on the chic bungalow site. If you are on a tighter budget, you can also stay in one of the huts inland.
Also inland is a great open-air-club where every Friday hell breaks loose. In Guys Bar there is dancing to electronic music until the early hours of the morning, when the partying crowd reluctantly has to leave the dance floor. If you want to be part of this superb fun you should book into the local accommodation, or alternatively there are taxi-boats between Haad Tien und Haad Rin all night.
A great beach to completely switch off from your daily routine, either with yoga or partying.
