Sai Daeng Beach - A favorite beach for those seeking peace and snorkelers
There is not much happening at the idyllic, white sandy beach of Sai Daeng with its turquoise water. However, it is in the water where there is plenty of action, as the reef of this beach is great for snorkelling.
To reach this small, tropical, picturesque bay you have to embark on an adventurous journey through the jungle. The lovely beach is just about 200 metres long and is enclosed at both ends by massive rocks. Here you will see many snorkelers who want to explore the beautiful underwater world. The nearby Shark Island is also a fantastic area for diving. There is a diving school at the beach where you can book courses and excursions.
In parts of the sand on the beach you will find dead coral which is regularly washed ashore from the reef and you should therefore wear appropriate footwear. In some other areas, although there are no stones, there are here and there smooth rocks hidden in the water. If you are travelling here by scooter you will need to take care, as the route leads you up and down rather steep hills. If that is too adventurous for you, pick-up taxis and boats are the alternatives.
Even though there is accommodation in all price categories as well as two good restaurants in this small bay, it is not particularly busy here even in the main season. You will mainly see young people here enjoying their day at Sai Daeng.
