Sairee Beach - Beautiful sandy beach with decent entertainment
On Koh Tao you will find mostly tiny bays which are remotely situated and ideal to spend your holiday away from the hustle and bustle. Only a few beaches don't fit into this category and the lovely beach of Sairee in the west of the island is one of them, as this is where the action is.
This beach with its white, powdery sand is about two kilometres long and very picturesque. Around some of the beach there are huge palm-trees where there are places in the shade. If you can't get one there, you can sit in one of the many bars along the beach. Sairee has the highest number of bars on the island and along the cool street behind the beach there are nice shops and massage parlours. This area is ideal to enjoy a stroll in the evening.
Sairee attracts mainly young people and anybody else who wants to already start in the afternoon with relaxing and listening to cool beats. In the evenings the beach turns into a colourful and exciting entertainment venue with fire dancing and wild drinking sessions. Great for everybody who likes this.
At and around the beach are many bungalows in all price ranges. At the northern end it is a little bit more exclusive and wonderfully quiet. During the day you can relax at the nice beach, enjoy a swim in the crystal clear water, or even explore the underwater world. Sairee has the highest number of diving schools on the island and these offer numerous courses, from the Padi Open Water Course to Dive Master. Stand-up paddling is also very popular here.
A great beach for anybody who wants to relax at a typically chic Koh Tao beach, but does not want to do without the action.
