Playa de Cala Millor
The large beach of Cala Millor in the east of Majorca is one of the most popular holiday resorts on the island. Many visitors, especially from Germany and the UK flock here every year to spend a relaxing day, full of variety. There are hotel beds in abundance here, the expansive beach offers plenty of space for sun-seekers, there are good bathing conditions and on the beach promenade there is a wide range of food, drinks and activities. A holiday in Cala Millor doesn't have to be expensive and yet there's plenty on offer for the whole family. Lots of visitors come back year after year and have practically made it their second home.

Playa de Cala Millor - Long, well-kept sandy beach in the east of Majorca

The resort of Cala Millor and the beach of the same name are one of the most popular destinations for beach holidays in Majorca. They lie on the east coast of the island and lots of hotels and apartments have been built here, many of which are large hotel complexes situated directly on the beach. It's mainly German and British holidaymakers who appreciate their accommodation's proximity to the large, light, sandy lounging area, which has a beach promenade running along its length of one and a half kilometres. The beach offers plenty of space in the sun and numerous ways to spend a relaxing day here, full of variety.

The sand is well-kept and clean, as it is cleaned daily. The large area can accommodate countless loungers, which are laid out under beautiful straw umbrellas. In between them there are always free areas with plenty of space for you to spread out your towel. The water is also very clean and impressively clear. Bathing conditions are good, as surfing is not allowed here in the summer months and bathers have almost completely free rein in the water. In the winter months, however, when there are a lot fewer visitors, the beach of Cala Millor is a good spot for kitesurfers and windsurfers.

Several trees and palms are planted along the promenade of Cala Millor. A green strip of grassy area creates a fresh atmosphere and is interrupted at regular intervals by parking spaces. These are situated close to the beach, making it easy and convenient to transport your provisions for the day almost right up to the sand. The well-kept lawns and gardens of the hotels add to the scenery here in many places. Approximately halfway along the beach is a large, park-like area with some benches, inviting you to pause a while.

Between the large hotel buildings there are several shops selling souvenirs and beach equipment, as well as numerous bars and restaurants with some local cuisine plus lots of dishes that the English and German visitors will know and love from home. Playa de Cala Millor is a great place for children, where they can have lots of fun. There are play areas and special activity programmes, so parents can easily "hand over" their little ones for a few hours and perhaps take advantage of one the numerous water sports on offer. Banana boats, parasailing, jet skiing and much more are available and a diving school also offers opportunities to explore the underwater world. On shore you'll find volleyball courts and a Segway tour operator, amongst other things.
