Summary of the Beach Inspectors
This light, fine-sanded area in the east of Majorca is very popular with holidaymakers. As a result there is a wide range of accommodation, restaurants and leisure activities on offer here, along with a well-developed infrastructure. Even in the height of summer when the big hotels near the beach are booked up, you’ll always find a spot on the loungers or on the sand. The wide range of entertainment and the opportunity to take long walks along the shore and into the neighbouring nature reserve mean that the whole family will find fun and relaxation here.

Playa de Sa Coma - Between tourist centres and walking trails

Playa de Sa Coma beach in the east of Majorca is a popular sandy beach that is more than 700 meters long and 50 metres wide. The resort of the same name is also very popular with holidaymakers. There are numerous hotels and holiday complexes, some with large buildings. Many of these buildings are right on the beach and have a big impact on the scenery, especially at the south-west end of the beach.

In the central area, a green strip with tall palm trees conceals the view of the hotel complexes quite successfully. At the north-eastern end of Playa de Sa Coma there are fewer buildings and the adjacent nature reserve offers beautiful terrain for walkers. From here you can take lovely walks to Castell Punta de n'Amer or to the bigger neighbouring beach in Cala Millor.

The large lounging area on Playa de Sa Coma beach consists almost entirely of fine, light sand and although it is interspersed with rocks in a few places, they are clearly visible. The route into the water is pleasant and the long coastline ensures that there's plenty of space in the water for everyone who wants to bathe, even when it's busy. Along its entire length, a large part of the beach is covered with sun loungers and beach umbrellas, so with a little effort you'll always find a spot, even in peak season.

On the promenade that runs along most of the length of Playa de Sa Coma beach you will find numerous cafés, restaurants and little supermarkets, which provide everything you would normally need for a day on the beach. The palm-lined beach promenade continues at the south-west end of Playa de Sa Coma and runs along the coast to the nearest beach - Playa Moreia in S'Illot.

As well as being well equipped with food outlets, plenty of accommodation to choose from and the beautiful, large lounging area, Playa de Sa Coma also offers numerous leisure activities, mainly of the water sports variety - you can choose between pedal boats, banana boats, parasailing, jet skiing and a few others. Divers and snorkellers will find a fascinating underwater world here and windsurfers and surfers appreciate Playa de Sa Coma as a good surfing spot out of season. There's also a wide variety for children on shore and in the water, which makes the beach popular with families

Playa de Sa Coma has been awarded the blue flag, the quality mark for sustainable, visitor-friendly beaches. Showers, public toilets and wheelchair access to the beach are a given here. A close-knit network of lifeguards is also in situ to ensure your safety. Since the currents at Playa de Sa Coma are not always completely safe, you should pay careful attention to the lifeguards' warning flags.
