As one of several coves in Mondragó Natural Park, the area surrounding the small beach of Playa de Ses Fonts de N'Alis is mainly characterised by dense forests and offers the perfect conditions for relaxing by the sea. Playa de Ses Fonts de N'Alis is a magnet for families because it has very good facilities for children, with a shaded play area, picnic tables, pedal boats and toilets. It also scores points for the soft sand and shallow, crystal-clear sea water. Around fifteen minutes’ walk away you will find the tiny bay of Caló des Borgit. Few people find their way here, so it's very quiet on this small beach.
Playa de Ses Fonts de N'Alis - Everything a family could need in impressive natural scenery
Colourful pedal boats drift in calm water, kids can splash about where the sand slopes gently into the sea or run around in the shaded play area - for a family holiday the small beach of Playa de Ses Fonts de N'Alis has a whole lot to offer. On top of this, it stands out because it is located in the heart of a dense forest.
This small bay in the east of Majorca is part of Mondragó Natural Park, where several mostly unspoiled beaches lie side by side. The nearest large resort of Santanyí is situated about 10 kilometres away. Playa de Ses Fonts de N'Alis is not signposted, so getting here by car is not entirely straightforward. However it's usually easy to find parking spaces close to the beach along the gravel road that leads to the bay.
In summer, people crowd between the beach umbrellas on the soft area of sand to relax in the fantastic natural landscape of crystal-clear sea water, flat rocks and lots of greenery. And yet for all its beautiful scenery, Playa de Ses Fonts de N'Alis is very well developed, with sun loungers, picnic benches under shady trees, and toilets. You can get drinks and snacks in a small chiringuito and larger dishes are served on the terrace of the restaurant. It's mainly local dishes on the menu and prices are standard for the region. A few metres behind the beach, there is also a hotel.
If you follow the footpath through the forest for around quarter of an hour you will arrive at Caló des Borgit, an even smaller beach with an intimate atmosphere. You'll need to bring sturdy shoes for the walk, but you'll be rewarded with a tiny bay where a small strip of soft sand lies between flat rocks. There's only room for a few people here and it's a lot quieter than on the larger nearby beach. Caló des Borgit is also surrounded by forest. You can make yourself comfortable on the sand or on the step-like rocky plateaus, where trees provide a good deal of shade.
