Heritage Resorts Beach - The ultimate dream beach
The beach of the Heritage Resorts looks like a dream come true. Here you will find huge coconut-trees, turquoise-blue water and a superb, fine sandy beach. The beach is in Bel Ombre in the south of the island and is part of the hotel resort. However, the beach is not only reserved for the guests of the hotel and you can get there through the beach club by paying 800 Rupee (about € 20.00).
The picturesque setting of the beach is ideal for relaxation, but windsurfers and kite surfers will also get their money’s worth here. Conditions for these water-sports are excellent here and there are far fewer surfers around in comparison to the very well known and highly regarded surfing spot of Le Morne. In addition you can have fun on the water with glass-bottomed boats, water-skiing and, stand-up paddling.
There are two 5-star restaurants at the beach where you can enjoy fresh fish and a variety of local fruits whilst gazing towards the horizon and feeling the sand under your feet. A special highlight of the beach is the Coco Shack, a small cosy beach bar which tempts you to spend your time there with swings under palm trees. What is special about this bar is the impressive selection of drinks, all of which are coconut based.
The offshore reef is an absolute highlight for snorkelers who can explore the underwater world with its colourful fish. The beach setting changes with the tides and although at high tide there is a smaller area of sand, you have a large expanse of shallow water sloping gently into the cool sea.
