Trou aux Biches Beach - Dream beach in the north
A gleaming white, seemingly never-ending, sandy beach, wooden boats gently rocking in the waves and coconut trees swaying in the breeze make the beach of Trou aux Biches in the north of the island one of the nicest on Mauritius. Some even say that this is one of the nicest beaches in the entire Indian Ocean.
The beach stretches along the entire length of the town of Trou aux Biches and is divided into three sections. The first part is used for mooring boats and it is mainly the locals to be seen here. At the second and third sections are apartment buildings, beach clubs and hotels and these parts are popular with locals as well as tourists of all ages, as the setting is superb. The white, sandy beach is inviting for long walks while watching the fishing boats coming and going.
As the beach is in the north of the island, snorkelling and diving conditions are perfect here. There is a diving school directly at the beach and also several others in the town.
You can enjoy the exclusive service in one of the beach clubs here and relax on a sunbed. In the evenings the sunset covers the beach with golden light and you should look for a cosy spot to watch the sun disappearing into the Indian Ocean on the horizon.
