Summary of the Beach Inspectors

From the beach of the Riu Hotel you have a spectacular view of the Le Morne mountain range. The beach is one of the best kitesurfing regions in the world and conditions for windsurfing and diving are also excellent. The long beach lined with palm-trees has enough space for sporting activities, as well as for relaxing on a sun-lounger away from the busy area around the hotel. The sunset covers the south-western part of the beach in a golden light and you can watch the sun setting over the Indian Ocean.

RIU Creole - RIU Le Morne Hotels & Resorts Beach - The beach paradise on Le Morne

The Riu Hotel on the peninsula in the south-west of the island is situated not far from the famous Le Morne Mountain, the landmark of the island. The 4-star hotel is directly situated at one of the best kitesurfing spots of the world. The private beach of the hotel is very spacious and especially in the Mauritian winter from June to September has perfect wind conditions, which are also ideal for windsurfing on this long, broad beach with lots of vegetation. There are enormous palm-trees at the edges of the beach which provide shade. In the southern part of the beach you are well away from the hustle and bustle of the hotel and from here you also have a spectacular view of the mountains. A lot of entertainment is on offer in the centre of the beach around the outdoor pool, where you will find, among other things, animation and massages and you can play volleyball, football and table tennis.

As Mauritius is almost entirely surrounded by a coral reef, conditions for snorkelling and diving are ideal. There is a water-sports provider at the beach where you can hire all kinds of equipment, book a glass-bottom boat trip and they will even take you to the best snorkelling spots. At the beach there is also a bar which offers fresh cocktails and snacks.

In the evening the western part of the beach is bathed in light as the sun sets at the south-western tip of the island and you have a fantastic view of this impressive sunset over the Indian Ocean.
