Bandar Khayran - remote beaches for explorers
Not for the faint-hearted - for adventurers! The remote beaches at Bandar Khayran lie hidden down unpaved roads and steep slopes that literally drop straight from the barren mountains. At any rate, that's how it feels when you're on your way there by car. As a result you should use an all-terrain vehicle with four-wheel drive to get to these beaches. A mere front- or rear-wheel drive won't get far here. In return, though, you'll experience that genuine off-road feeling. Great fun for adrenalin junkies.
The beaches are dotted around the area. Just head in the direction of the water, which you catch a glimpse of now and again. If you see an unpaved road, in most cases it will lead to a little beach. You'll have it to yourselves, since these beaches are (luckily) not tourist magnets. This is probably because there is absolutely no infrastructure here. But that doesn't matter, since adventurers don't need luxury. Unfortunately some of the beaches are rather dirty, even though large rubbish bins have been provided. But we're not talking about mountains of litter, so it's bearable. If your spirit of discovery is still not satisfied, you should check out the numerous small islands within swimming distance. Some of these will give you fantastic views of the bays.
The currents produced by the ebb and flow of the tides can be very strong in places. So visitors will generally need to take care not to go too far from the beach.
