Playa de la Arena - Nice, well maintained town beach with a great infrastructure
Playa de la Arena is the beach of the town of La Arena and is situated on the south-west coast of Tenerife. This small, untouched, black sandy beach is in a quiet, wind-sheltered bay, surrounded by black rocks. Palm trees line the rear of the beach, which is nicely landscaped and maintained.
In the last few years Playa de la Arena was several times chosen as one of Europe‘s cleanest and safest beaches. Conditions for spending a relaxed day at the beach with the whole family here are ideal. The sea is calm and perfect for swimming and there are also lifeguards on duty. The infrastructure is first class with numerous wooden pathways leading down over the beach to the sea. Toilets and showers can be found at several locations and are well signposted and accessible to everyone, including wheelchair users.
Three nice small restaurants offer food and drink in different price brackets. Obviously in the summer months it can become crowded here, but that should not put you off spending a nice relaxed day or indeed even your whole holiday here.
