Playa de los Guíos - Small, sandy beach at the foot of enormous cliffs
Playa de los Guíos is located in the village of Los Gigantes on the south-west coast of Tenerife. The main feature of this small, almost completely untouched and natural, black, sandy beach is the fantastic view. From the beach you can look up at the enormous cliffs of Los Gigantes, which are up to 500 metres tall.
The fine sand is comfortable to lie on and the beach is very rarely overcrowded. There are also sun-loungers and parasols for hire here. There is no restaurant or bar at the beach, but you can find plenty of these in the nearby marina. There you can also hire jet-skis, boats and kayaks with which you can head for the cliffs in the area.
Hidden among the enormous Los Gigantes cliffs are also some little gems of bays, some of which can only be reached from the sea. The most beautiful of them is probably Masca. You can reach this bay also on foot, but you will need to be quite fit to do so, as it will take you at least two hours from the mountain village of Masca along a path over the cliffs.
