For those in south-west Tenerife looking for a quiet beach with a lot of space and good offers for sun-seekers and swimming enthusiasts, this is the place for you. The atmosphere is nice and the scenery is beautiful, as long as you do not feel disturbed by the multi-storey hotel in the background. There is a very good fish restaurant directly at the beach. The great view, the large choice of beach loungers and straw parasols, the park-like surroundings above the beach and the small walkway which leads you into the sea all round off the overall picture and ensure a high feel-good factor.
Playa Ajabo - A well laid-out beach with a nice atmospherePlaya Ajabo, also known as Playa Callao Salvaje, is a well laid-out bay with a pleasant atmosphere in the south-west of Tenerife. The dark sand of the beach is mixed with pebbles from which large, bright stones protrude, providing an image of a mini-mountain range. To the left the beach is bordered by a high rock face, while on the right-hand side a hotel complex towers high above the water. A walled walkway leads out to the sea. The backdrop is formed by pleasant pathways that lead to the beach, which are lovingly planted and maintained.
People of all age groups come here, it is quiet and everyone finds their own little space. This is also a nice beach for families. There are toilets here and also a lifeguard for safety. There are plenty of loungers to hire, with pretty straw parasols for protection from the sun.
A very good reason to visit this beach is the Sansibar Ajabo beach restaurant. Great meat dishes and a nice wine list are only bettered by the freshly caught fish, which is prepared in a stone oven in the open air in full view of the guests. A culinary delight, which we highly recommend.
