Playa de Troya - Beach for swimming with plenty of other things to do
Playa de Troya is in the south of Tenerife in Las Americas, the well-known holiday resort. This nice, sandy beach is one of the beaches which run continuously along the front of the resort. These are all easily accessible via the nicely kept and landscaped promenade. There are also many shops at the promenade, ideal for window shopping and buying souvenirs. Several hotels are situated at the back of the beach, but because of the promenade in between, the nice view remains largely unspoilt.
Two well-known beach clubs are situated at each end of the beach. Especially in the summer months there are lively parties here and for many young people they are the main reason to come to Playa de Troya. There is also a variety of water-sports and other leisure activities on offer, among which are banana-boats, jet-skis, pedal-boats, parasailing, stand-up paddling and fly boarding. The gentle waves, the shallow water, plenty of lifeguards and the cleanliness of the beach means that Playa de Troya is a good swimming beach which is also family-friendly. The beach has been awarded the blue flag for safety, cleanliness and for being environmentally friendly.
