Playa del Duque - An elegant, sandy beach on a beautifully laid-out promenade
Playa del Duque is situated in the south-west of Tenerife and it offers its visitors an all- round enjoyable experience. There is a classy atmosphere here and everything needed for a high quality beach. Fine, light sand forms the surface, the beach is very clean and well maintained and the sea glistens in splendour. The distance into the deeper water is just about right and is free from stones. Plenty of sun-loungers, nice straw parasols, an elegant beach bar and a volleyball court complete the picture.
At the rear of the beach there is a beautifully laid-out promenade, where on different levels there are shops in the upper to exclusive price brackets. The promenade continues beyond Duque and connects the numerous beaches on this coast with one another. If the loungers are too expensive for you, there is no problem using your own beach towel here. In the same way you can less expensively satisfy your thirst and hunger by taking the roughly 10-minute walk along the promenade to the neighbouring beach of Fañabe, where there are a huge number of options in the cheaper price bracket.
For cooling down and entertainment the Water Sports Center has a lot to offer. There are jet-skis, banana-boats and much more. Playa del Duque offers the most luxurious ambience on the beaches of Costa Adeje, but even if you cannot afford any of the rooms in the surrounding 5-star hotels, you can still have a lot of fun here.
