This is a nice bay for anyone who wants to be away from the tourist hotspots and can do without beach bars, lifeguards, showers and water-sports. Swimming naked is widespread and the people here are very relaxed and approachable. The scenery is picturesque and the water is crystal clear.
Playa las Gaviotas - Village at the sea to escape from civilisationThis nice bay can be reached from the village of Caleta by foot. It is rather concealed and we recommend wearing appropriate shoes to get there safely. The centrepiece of the bay is a beach with black stones, to the left and right of which are rock plateaus on which you can lie comfortably and from some of which you can descend straight into the clear, turquoise-blue sea. Directly at the beach is a village of makeshift huts and tents where hippies from all over Europe have settled, some of whom have been living here for years.
There is a lot going on especially in the evenings, but during the day it is mostly quieter. It is easy to make contact with others here and swimmers and sunbathers will find nice spots on the rock plateaus to relax.
