Playa Callao - A largely untouched, natural bay with opportunities for solitude
You will find Playa Callao somewhat off the beaten track on the outskirts of Los Cristianos. Not far from the sometimes overcrowded town beaches of Las Americás and Los Cristianos you will find an oasis of peace here. The beach has been almost entirely left to nature and with the exception of a small beach bar there are no buildings. At the eastern end of the beach there is some sand, but the rest of the beach is hard stone. Also to the east, imposing cliffs dominate the skyline.
You will only see people sporadically here and those heading for Playa Callao tend to be looking for solitude. Nudists who do not want to feel watched and young people who want to keep themselves to themselves and have a barbecue and some fun find their privacy between the jagged rocks. Playa Callao is also a popular meeting place of the gay and transgender community.
