Prainha - A charming little pint-sized beach
There are so many big beaches, sandy trails that are kilometres long and vast beach landscapes. And then there is Prainha. A diminutive cove that can easily hold its own amongst all the others. In its small area this little beach combines all the best features of numerous others.
Prainha is encircled by beautiful rock formations. Centuries of storms have left their own distinctive imprints and marks on the rocks. The salty sea water is still etching the rocks, so be careful when you explore the beach and always keep well away from the cliffs as chunks of rock could fall and injure you.
This small beach will not get boring: when you take a closer look you'll discover secrets you would never have suspected. Dotted around Prainha there are grottos and waterholes just waiting for you to stumble on them. It's best to take advantage of low tide to explore the area. Your feet will be refreshed by the clear water of the Atlantic during your expedition of discovery.
It's a delight to dive into the ocean here. The water is so clean, it has been awarded the blue flag. Although Prainha is so small, there is still a beach restaurant here. As you sit on its terrace you can gaze out over the bay, while the aroma of delicious dishes wafts out to you. The menu has lots of local delicacies for you to choose from. Bon appetit!
