Playa de Sabinillas - very well equipped family beach
On an extremely densely built-up strip of coast, south-west of the holiday resort of Estepona, the spacious Playa de Sabinillas beach spreads out against a silhouette of apartment blocks and smaller houses. Close to the water, summer holidaymakers and locals cluster under the colourful sun umbrellas, whether they're here to relax on the folding chairs or to splash about in the fresh Mediterranean Sea.
Playa de Sabinillas is situated 20 kilometres from Estepona and its location in the town of San Luis de Sabinillas gives it an urban character. It is easy to reach by car and you'll find places to park in the surrounding streets. It's mainly families that spend their holidays here, because Playa de Sabinillas has plenty to offer for children. You will find several play areas here, and in peak season, a water play park in the sea and bumper cars. With showers, toilets and lifeguards, this beach is very well equipped. The fine, grey sand slopes very gently into the water and at the water's edge the surface is a little stony in places.
For sports fans the beach has a volleyball net and a small fitness trail. A few shops and restaurants are lined up along the promenade. From American fast food to Andalusian dishes, there's something to suit all tastes here. Freshly caught fish are cooked, mostly on open wood fires kindled in old fishing boats.
