Al Sufouh Beach - A family beach with a view of Burj Al Arab
Al Sufouh Beach is a public beach in the centre of Dubai from where you have a great view of Burj Al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah. The beach is nearly 2½ kilometres long and up to 150 metres wide, making it is perfect for long walks.
The beach can be reached from the Al Sufouh Road via a huge car park. It is a very popular beach with families with small children, as the water is shallow and therefore safe for the kids to play in. However, there are no amenities here and you do need to bring your own food and drink. Nevertheless, especially at the weekends families come here to meet up with others at the beach to share a picnic and have a good time.
The centrally situated beach volleyball court and the area for beach football are also in regular use. Kite flying is another popular activity here and the skyline is often decorated with brightly coloured kites.
The turquoise water and the soft, light-coloured sand make Al Sufouh Beach especially attractive and although it is a public beach, it is clean with plenty of waste bins for everybody's rubbish.
At the southern end of the beach is a small jetty where you can often see fishermen and where private luxury yachts are moored.
