Jumeirah Open Beach - A quiet beach ideal for long walks
The beach can be reached by taxi or public transport. There is normally a car parking charge, but parking is free every day from 13:00 – 16:00.
The beach is nearly 3 kilometres long and in parts up to 220 metres wide, making it ideal for long walks and for those looking for some peace and quiet away from the crowds. At the weekends you will see mainly locals here. The setting is dominated by children playing on the beach or looking for shells together with their parents, but there are also couples to be seen here enjoying their time together.
The beach is relatively long and is divided into three areas. To the right and left are two swimming areas and in the middle is a section for kite-surfers where you will find many water-sports enthusiasts enjoying their hobby.
Jumeirah Open Beach is perhaps not as popular with tourists as some of the other beaches in Dubai, but it still has all the amenities such as toilets, changing facilities and showers. There is only one beach restaurant here, but this serves delicious baguettes, fresh salads and local drinks.
If you are looking for a sporting alternative to long walks at the beach, there is a dedicated running area directly at the beach which is gentle on your knees. Next to the track is a large variety of exercise equipment where the weight-lifters amongst you can really let off steam.
