Playa Alzada is above all an ideal beach for learning to surf, which is why many surf schools make their way here. Surfing is the main attraction at Playa Alzada and swimmers will find it difficult to find an undisturbed spot in the water and should perhaps come when the wind conditions are less favourable for surfers. However, lying on the nice sandy beach with the picturesque dunes in the background and watching the spectacle in the water is certainly an alternative.
Playa Alzada - Fine sandy beach with ideal conditions for surfing beginners
Alzada beach, also called Del Moro or Playita del Poris, is situated in the southern part of the picturesque Corralejo dunes. It is directly on the coastal road from where the numerous surfers can be spotted. Although there is no surf school at the beach, many surf schools come here as the conditions are ideal for beginners. Relaxed swimming is not really possible, as the surfers take a lot of room in the water. However, most tourists just enjoy lying on the beach enjoying the sun and watching the colourful display of surfers in the turquoise coloured sea.
The fine sand is comfortable to lie on and the long stretch of dunes behind the road is very inviting for long walks in beautiful scenery. It is not always easy to get into the water, as in parts access is via rather slippery rocks, but the water here is clear and clean.
