Playa del Río - Relaxation in the town
Playa del Río gets its name from the only river in Ibiza, which flows into the Mediterranean Sea to the south of the beach. Together with Santa Eulalia, Playa del Río is one of the two beaches of the second largest town in Ibiza. Behind the long sandy area are rows of holiday hotels and apartments. The holidaymakers staying in one of the hotels nearest to the beach only have to cross the palm tree lined promenade to get to the sun-loungers. Playa de Río can also be easily reached by car and there are parking spaces in the surrounding roads.
Santa Eulalia attracts mainly holidaymakers who do not want to do without the amenities of a larger town, but are not interested in parties or long nights in the clubs. Therefore many families and couples like to come here to relax in a classy atmosphere.
A large water-sports outlet offers jet-skis, banana boats, wake boards and donut boats. Trips are also available to the small island of Tagomago, where diving off the coast is worthwhile.
There are some restaurants along the promenade and if you head north-east along the promenade you will get to a fountain from where you have a great view of the town and the turquoise sea. If you continue from there along the promenade you will reach the neighbouring town beach of Playa Santa Eulalia.
