Summary of the Beach Inspectors

The Charles Clove Beach is a meeting place for the surfers and families of Jaffa. The 500-metre long sandy beach was awarded the Blue Flag in 2016, meaning that there are lifeguards all year round, sanitary facilities and access for wheelchair users. You can surf at the rear part of the beach and as there are fewer swimmers here, your dog is also welcome. Your children can play in the large playground which is in the popular adjacent Charles Clove Park. The Manta Ray restaurant, which lies on the city promenade, provides you with culinary delights.

Charles Clore Beach - The surfing and family beach of Jaffa

Charles Clore Beach is right next to the park of the same name. The beach is also known by the name of Alma Beach and lies in Tel Aviv’s trendy district of Jaffa. The 500-metre long beach can be reached by foot and on arrival you can let your eyes wander over the historical city of Jaffa. The beach lies directly at the city promenade. By walking a little further along this promenade, you will soon reach the other dream beaches of Tel Aviv. Those who prefer to go by bike can rent one directly at the beach.

The Blue Flag flies over Charles Clore Beach

This beach was awarded the Blue Flag in 2016. There are lifeguards, toilets, showers, and security staff here all year round. The beach is also accessible for wheelchairs and there is even a wheelchair which can move through sand. Sun-loungers and chairs provide the required comfort levels and you can escape the sun under the shaded pavilions. As pickpocketing is not uncommon here, you should store your valuables in the lockers provided. Particular care should be taken at the beach in the months of July and August, when poisonous jellyfish can be washed up on the sand.

Family outing to Charles Clore Beach

Charles Clore Beach attracts many local families every day. The vast and pretty sandy beach, the powerful waves and the high water quality provide the perfect setting for a family outing. There is a large playground and a spacious meadow in the park which can be used to have a picnic or barbecue. Those who would prefer to eat at the seafront will find the Manta Ray restaurant where you can enjoy typical Israeli food and drink either on the terrace or inside. Parties take place here at the weekends now and then.

Surfing at Charles Clore Beach

The surfing conditions are good all year round. Many local surfers come here to this beach to let off some steam. As there is no water-sports rental at the beach, you will have to bring your own board with you. The surfing area is some distance away from the main beach. Dogs are also welcome here.
