This is regarded as one of the nicest beaches of Phangan and the view of the bay says it all. The white sandy beach, the turquoise-blue water and the very tall palm-trees are just like you would imagine a dream beach to be. The very remotely situated Bottle Beach in the north of the island can best be reached by boat and it is a popular destination for young families and couples who want to spend a few relaxing days at the beach. You will find here something for everybody, whether it is relaxation, swimming, snorkelling or enjoying an open fire in the evening.
Bottle Beach - Popular, remote bay in the north of Phangan
If you fly by helicopter over Koh Phangan, at the northern end of the island you will be able to clearly identify one of the beaches. This is Bottle Beach, also known as Haad Khuat, which has the shape of a bottle when looked at from above. There are many other legends about how this very popular beach got its name, but this is the real reason.
The idyllic, sandy bay is about 500 metres long and is extremely remotely located. The best way to get here is by long-tail boat from Chaloklum. Alternatively, you can take the adventurous option of a path through the jungle which takes about two and a half hours, but this riskier route should not be attempted with luggage.
When in spring the sea goes ridiculously far out on most Phangan beaches, you can still enjoy a great beach and swimming holiday at Bottle Beach. Young families and couples in particular come to this remote idyllic beach to have a nice time. Snorkelling is also very popular and you can hire equipment at one of the few restaurants here and also book excursions by boat. Bottle Beach offers beach fun for young and old.
There are only four bungalow sites at the beach and in the evenings there is not much happening at Bottle Beach, but some entertainment is provided in the form of cosy campfires and fire dance shows.
