Playa de Sant Pere - Small, family-friendly bay in Alcúdia
The beach of Sant Pere lies in the north of Majorca on the Alcúdia peninsula in the small resort of Mal Pas. From here you have a beautiful view over the Bay of Pollença and across to the mountains of Formentor. The surrounding hills are populated with villas, some luxurious, which add to the impressive scenery.
From the water you can see the neighbouring small marina of Mal Pas. Playa de Sant Pere is framed on either side by rock formations that invite you to climb up and jump from various points straight into the water.
The sandy area of Playa de Sant Pere is fairly small, clean and well-kept. About half of the area is covered with loungers and straw beach umbrellas that are nearly always fully occupied on summer weekends. At the sides, the front and the back there are areas where you can lie on the sand, but they can get cramped. The path into the water is very shallow, making it ideal for families with small children. In addition there are no water sports, which could be dangerous for children.
There is a tiny beach bar at Playa de Sant Pere with a handful of tables, where you can get drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. There is also a lifeguard, as well as showers and public toilets. The beach is particularly popular among locals and Spaniards who have their holiday homes in the resort. Only a few holidaymakers come here from the handful of hotels in Mal Pas, or from the popular holiday resort of Alcúdia in search of a quieter alternative to the beach there.
